Founded in 1984 by Elliot P. Gibber, Deb-El Foods
was designed to be the most modern egg drying plant in the world.
From 1984 through 1993, the company’s sole business was the
manufacturing and domestic and export selling of a complete line
of dried egg products to the commercial food industry. While continuing
to grow and diversify, Deb-El Foods remains one of the largest and
most modern egg drying facilities in the world.
Ten years later, in 1994, Gibber added a line
of liquid and frozen egg products, ideal for bakeries and food manufacturers.
That same year, Deb-El began to produce and
distribute the company’s first retail product --- Just Whites
--- under the Deb-El company name. With this entry into the specialty
food industry, other products followed including Scramblettes, Whole
Eggs, and the Island Blaze line of Hearts of Palm.
Gibber purchased G&L Food Products,
LLC in 1996 and thus entered the food service business.
The manufacturer of mayonnaise, salad dressings, powdered drink
mixes, plus a variety of powdered products packed in cans, G&L
packs products both under its own label as well as for private label.
G&L’s house label for mayonnaise and salad dressing is
called Robert’s Gourmet. The house label
for powered drink mixes is Country Farm.
Deb-El Foods continued to
grow as Gibber purchased the family egg breaking plant in Thompsonville,
NY, and merged it into Deb-El Foods. The Deb-El breaking plant has
since been remodeled and expanded and is now a state-of-the-art
facility. The Thompsonville Deb-El plant manufactures a full line
of liquid and frozen egg products both for the commercial food industry,
as well as for the food service channels.
Deb-El Foods is now a major
player in the egg product business in The United States and worldwide.
Deb-El has the ability to provide any type of frozen, liquid or
dried egg product that a commercial manufacturer or a food service
operator would require.
The products manufactured and distributed
are of the highest quality and offered at competitive prices. Service
is key as the company prides itself on being big enough to be able
to provide customers with any quantity no matter how large, while
at the same time offering personal and quick service.
Gibber is a past Chairman of the United Egg
Association and is Technical Advisor for the Egg Products Industry
to the American Egg Board. Deb-El is a member of the Retail Bakers
Association, and the Private Label Manufacturers Association. Gibber,
active in the food industry for over 30 years, serves as a National
Vice President of the (OU) Union of Orthodox Congregations of America
